CONDOLENCE
We mourn the loss of MADAM BEATRICE OLOWOKERE, the mother of two of our staunch members, namely:
Alumnus (Professor) David Olusola Olowokere of Houston Texas, (a Committe Chairperson)and
Alumnus (Engineer) Titus Olowokere of Atlanta,Georgia.(Our former General Secretary).
The sad news was first broken to our members by the Ag. General Secretary Alumnus (Attorney) Olumide Obayemi, in an email when he wrote:
Gentlemen and Ladies
With gratitude to a life well spent, and with good and eternal legacies lasting after her, we announce the Passing to
Eternal Glory of Secretary General's Mother--Alumnus Titus Olowookere yesterday 01/06/2010
May the Almighty Lord be with Brother Titus, Sister Faith and the children at this time
Please, call Mr. Olowokere at 404-227-3300
Olumide Obayemi.
In a reponse and on behalf of the family, Alumnus (Engineer) Olowokere wrote:
Dear friends,
On behalf of our family, I like to express profound gratitude to all who have commiserated with us on the death of our beloved mother, Mrs. Beatrice Olowokere. Thanks for your concerns, prayers and stream of phone calls from all community groups and friends. Thanks also for your expression of sympathies as well. Your concerted love have helped in a huge way in alleviating some of the pains of this tragic event, as the funeral arrangements unfold
No doubt, it hurts thinking or writing about her in the past tense. She was a wonderful person. Mother in a million, lovers of children, godly and lovers of everybody around her. She was pleasant, welcoming, possessed meekness, kindness and extremely wise. Her passing away was unfortunate. It is life's reality and eventuality. However, even though tears still well in our eyes, we wipe our tears, taking solace in the Jehovah God, drawing strength in his promise of a resurrection.
If there is any tutorial, any take-away from these, it is the stark reminder of our mortality and transience, the grim realization of our ephemeral life, the palliative value of good friends and the need for us, one and all to serve God wholeheartedly, live an exemplary life, take care of ourselves, our loved ones, family and such superlative values that money cannot buy.
Thanks again for your solidarity, support and kindred spirit. It melts my heart and has added a new, positive dimension to my perception of communal camaraderie. True, life stood still for a moment, but life now goes on, and we should make the best of each day.
God bless you all.
Regards
Titus
A moment of silence was observed in honor of the departed at our last teleconference.
If you have not done so, please send your individual condolences to the Olowokeres to let them know that we all and individually
identify with them at this time.
Further announcement would be made by the family.
May her soul rest in perfect peace.
Thanks you.
